So, if you’ve ever wondered what the OG Cruisers are up to these days, here’s a perfect example.

It all started with a simple telephone call. Word got around, and Liz decided it was time to gather the group for a special visit—one that reminded everyone what the Emeritus Cruisers are really about. For those who may not know, our Emeritus members are still very much part of the club. They may not be camping with us physically anymore, but they remain with us in spirit, friendship, and heart.

A group of the original club members came together and headed to Highland to visit one of our own, Leroy Henderson. With the help of his daughter, Leroy was dressed in his club T‑shirt—proudly representing, just like always. Before long, an official club meeting was underway.

Presiding over the gathering was none other than past Western Regional Director Liz Hemingway. Joining her were past NAARVA President Louise Grogan and her husband Barry, along with Betty and Joe Patrick, and Bertha and Walter Rucker. It was a room full of familiar faces, shared memories, and plenty of laughter.

The meeting was filled with stories, smiles, and that unmistakable bond that only long-time friends can share. Leroy, who still has his RV parked in the driveway, made it clear he hasn’t lost his cruising spirit. With a grin, he announced that he’s prepped and ready to head out to Juneteenth—just waiting for the club to call that meeting and get things rolling.

The visit came as a complete surprise to Leroy, and it truly made his day. Seeing so many old friends gathered around him was a powerful reminder that once you’re a Cruiser, you’re always a Cruiser.

A good time was had by all, and everyone left with full hearts, grateful for the chance to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the enduring spirit of the Emeritus Cruisers.
