There're More Josephs?!

James and Darlene, newer members of the Cruisers, bring with them nearly 50 years of camping experience, having started their adventures in a small Ford Ranger with a tent. Their camping journey evolved through a minivan, a tent trailer, an F-250 with a fifth wheel, and their first Class A RV, a Sea Breeze. They now enjoy traveling in a Dolphin, purchased from James's brother-in-law and sister. The couple will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in a few months.

Their favorite camping destination is Santee Lakes in San Diego County, though Darlene also has a fondness for Lake Cachuma. James particularly enjoys the Southern California beaches, including Pismo, Atascadero, and Santa Barbara, and harbors a goal to travel the entire United States in their RV.

Residing in Las Vegas, James and Darlene learned about the Cruisers from James's sister, Bridget, during a visit with his brother Kevin, who is also a Cruiser. They opted to join the Southern California-based club over the Las Vegas Club to enjoy opportunities to visit with family.

James & Darlene are both retired from the LA Unified School District, and James worked as a semi-professional referee and umpire in baseball, basketball, and football—progressing from Pop Warner to college and the Arena Football League, often limiting their RV travel time.

For James, the camaraderie is the best part of being a Cruiser. He values the friendly atmosphere and enjoys hearing fellow members' travel stories.
